Luke 24:34 (Simon Peter) saying, “The Lord has risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!”
My oldest son, Zack, a freshman at CMU, drove down with my parents to celebrate the Lord's Resurrection and my last plasma exchange. He brought wonderfully painted Easter eggs (thank you, Katie-girl), and an Easter basket full of stuff I'm not supposed to have! But 60 mg of prednisone sure makes me crave sugar and chocolate!
What It Was Like to Have the Vas Cath Port Removed
The port was an 8 inch line to my heart and basically felt like a big sliver. A nurse had me flat on my back, practice breathing on his count, and on the third exhale, p-u-l-l-e-d the long plastic tube out, tilted the bed up, and used his fingers to put pressure (a lot!) on the hole for about five minutes. I was surprised that I didn't need local anesthetic! There was hardly any bleeding either. I feel like I just had a giant sliver removed from my neck. (That sounded worse than I meant!) Soon, I had a dressing on, and had to be on elevated bed rest for two hours.
Home Again, Home Again, Rig-A-Jig-Jig!
My plasma exchange treatments are over, the port has been surgically removed, and I'm headed home! 15 days is enough after thinking I was just coming in for a quick MRI for a supposed pinched nerve!
Sometimes the things that we appreciate most are the little things, like, um, walking, being at home, and visiting with friends and family.
What are some little things that you appreciate in your life? Leave your comments for me to read! I'll love it!
He is Risen, indeed!
