Hi folks!
It's been a while since I've added to this blog because, well, I haven't been in the "horse piddle" (hospital) for a while. I'm actually GLAD I'm here-yeah, you read it right-glad because I'm getting one more Plasma Exchange before January uno, which starts my $7,500+ deductible. (This little procedure is a mere $25,000 or more! No big deal, right?!)
I have had a higher pain level and balance issue since the reoccurring staph infection in my middle finger and fighting the very rare fungal infection called mucor. My nervous system is on such a fine line anyway, it doesn't take much to really effect me. Since all that craziness in July, I have had a much higher pain level in both legs, but particularly the left, which has a foot drop too. My days used to be pretty good until about noon and then go downhill, but now it starts about 10:30 am. That doesn't leave me much time to do anything I want to get done! Stairs continue to be my Waterloo, which stinks as our main living room and laundry is downstairs.
I'll admit it, I L-O-V-E to do laundry! Why? Because it doesn't take any thinking, and I can see dirty stuff become clean! I also love my steamer! I can steam clothes in moments instead of ironing, ironing, ironing. Now, get over to K-Farts or Wally World and get a steamer! It will change your life! :-) Enough of that free advertising...
Knowing I would be at the "Blodgett Inn" for 11 days, I brought plenty to do. I have been cutting out several Christmas trees and cool new stars out of stained glass that will be ready to be ground, wrapped and soldered when I get home.
My wife, Kim, brought school stuff for me to do for her too! I worked my fanny off writing tons of MEAP-like questions for her and still have more to do. No rest for the wicked as they say!
I even brought things to decorate my room for Halloween! I still have that teacher part of me that loves the holidays!
I have two prayer requests for you. One is that the plasma pheresis (blood exchange) works and my pain level decreases. Also that my mobility improves, especially in my left leg. I would like to be able to walk without a cane through Christmas. The second is for my Facebook friend, Mary Juengle (pronounced "jungle") who is a young teen girl fighting cancer. She is an amazing example of Christian fortitude. Check out her FB page, "Team Mary." She was the very first "Hope Hero" on Family Life Radio.
If you haven't "friended" me on Facebook, what are you waiting for? I'm hilarious! Just ask me! For example: Why don't skeletons play music in church? Because they have no organs! Why don't skeletons reproduce? Because they have "Hollow-weenies!"
Happy Halloween and Blessings to you all,
James
